Chris Paulk was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. A place well known as the sunshine state and also for producing some of the country's best football players. Growing up Chris didn't have much interest in playing football or hanging out with the kids his age which led to some troubled upbringing, despite the troubled youth, Paulk says the crowd he did hang out with helped shape him into the man he is today. Those troubles led him to the private school his mother put him in and what really started his football journey. Changing schools was the real catalyst for Chris, after making this change he got more serious about his classes, stopped getting in trouble and even made the football team. During his 4 years there he made quite the name for himself with a stat line of: 26 interceptions, 44 pass deflections, 7 forced fumbles, 3 blocked punts, 6 sacks and 8 total touchdowns. His performance earned him the 2019 High School Player of The Year and a #1 ranking in the nation for safeties. All of the accolades brought on a lot of buzz from the NCAA, receiving offers from Texas, Alabama, Baylor, Clemson, Florida State, Florida, LSU and of course Miami.
Chris was always a fan of the way Miami presented itself and the culture of the school so it was no surprise for him to accept the scholarship from the Hurricanes when the time came. As a kid he looked up to players like Ed Reed and Sean Taylor, two of the best defensive backs to ever play the game of football and huge Miami icons. He wasted no time after getting to the campus, building a rapport with his teammates and making the university his home. To be at the school he loved growing up and to wear the same uniform that some of his idols did, it was easy for Chris Paulk aka CP to stay motivated throughout every week. this past season he tallied 100 tackles, 9 pass deflections, 4 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, 2 blocked punts and 2 sacks. A stat line like that should have him going very early in the RFL Draft which is just a week and change away. Where do you think he will go?
Stay tuned in for more prospect highlights to come out in the next week as we gear up for the RFL draft!
